I hope you had a terrific break and are ready for your final quarter at Painted Sky. I have a few of questions for you to blog about...
1. What fun things did you do over the break?
2. What are your goals and expectations for the fourth quarter?
3. Are you excited about going to middle school next year? If so, what will be exciting to you? If not, what worries or concerns do you have about next year?
I look forward to chatting with you,
Mrs. Cook

Science Fair Projects
Dear Students,
You did a great job on your science fair projects! I know they took a tremendous amount of time and effort. We had such a variety in both topics and presentations. Awesome job! :-)
Question: Which projects did you enjoy the most and why?

Happy Holidays!
Dear Students and Parents,
I hope you are having a fun, exciting holiday season so far. As I write this, I am waiting with crossed fingers that Jeremy and Ricky make it in to Tucson safely tonight, December 23. The weather is bad on both the west and east coasts, but hopefully their planes will be able to bring them home for our holiday.
I would like to thank each of you for the very thoughtful gifts you gave me before our break. You really outdid yourselves, and I have been enjoying my gift cards and goodies! You are very kind and I appreciate the thoughtfulness.
Happy holidays! I will see you next year - in 2009!
Cheers,
Mrs. Cook

City of Ember & Fall Break
Dear Students,
I hope you had a fabulous week off and are ready to start a new quarter. I'm curious who went to see the City of Ember movie. Did you enjoy it? Were you disappointed? What are your thoughts?
Did you go anywhere over the break? What did you do? I went to Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. We hiked down the canyon to Indian Gardens. It's a ten mile hike, and I was sore for a couple of days, but it was worth it! We saw lots of wildlife. I have included a photo of some of the wildlife we saw along the trail.
Happy days,

Mrs. Cook

Web Safety
Welcome to the web-safety blog. After we discuss web-safety, your task is to visit "Techno-park" and see if you can add to your knowledge. The internet is great tool but is continually changing, so we always need to be aware about how we use it safely.
Please add a comment about what you learned or know about web-safety. Also, reply to someone else's comments. Remember to pay attention to your spelling and grammar. Always proofread before you post.

Summer Olympics
Hi Class,
This post will stay up for a while, but the question(s) will change each day. I hope you find this year's Olympics to be as "lucky" as the Chinese predict. We'll discuss the events as they unfold during the next couple of weeks. You are encouraged to blog about exciting Olympic news as you watch some of the various events. Please share this information in our blog.
In the meantime, new questions will appear each day. Remember, you want to jot down the answers on a piece of paper and turn it in the next day. Reminder: The answers are not to be posted on the blog, but will be revealed in class. :-) Good luck with your Olympic search - and have fun!
Cheers,
Mrs. Cook
